The Search for Acne Solutions

Pharmaceutical companies and experimental labs worldwide spend an enormous budget each year on elaborating brand new or on improving older acne solutions. Both, the end consumer and the developer, invest time and money in finding an effective treatment. Unfortunately, many of the users end up involved in a continuous “keep looking” process. For instance, in teenagers, acne mostly occurs as a transient condition and is often outgrown long before the appropriate treatment is found and implemented. On the other side, certain lack of knowledge in acne background places an additional obstacle on the way to full and quick recovery.

Most people ignore that there’s much more to curing acne than the use of medication.

For the whole lifestyle requires changes and improvements when it comes to this annoying, skin-damaging disease: your skin-care and skin-exposure habits, the foods you eat, the beverages you drink etc. For instance, if your acne is food related - medication use will only clear the actual flare-up… until you swallow that food again.

In addition, the use of any acne solution should be preceded by regular and thorough skin-cleaning procedures, i.e. you should systematically wash your face at least 2 times a day!! And, of course, make sure all the pore-clogging dirt is removed. If you reside in an area with somewhat excessive air pollution – then washing your face even more often is highly advised. Among other anti-acne deeds, such preventive measures as keeping your hair, hands and fingers off (!!!) your face should be separated out. For all of them are relatively oily surfaces that can aggravate your acne condition. Popping or squeezing pimples is a taboo – it’s forbidden! Not only for fear of scarring but also for fear of bacterium spreading. It might worsen the already existing pimple breakouts and even cause new ones to pop up in the future. Make-up is another acne-skin uninvited and unwelcomed guest. Especially if it is used to camouflage pimples… If this is the case, by using make-up you are only delaying the healing time point because make-up adds quite a bit to pore clogging. However, if there is absolutely no way you can avoid using decorative cosmetics to hide your skin imperfections – make sure to choose hypoallergenic products specifically designed for hypersensitive skin. Also, try to substitute perfume-comprising products with those containing only natural aromas.

Choose and use acne solutions with due caution. Stick to each and every direction indicated on the patient information leaflet. All misuse, overuse or under use of the product can cause undesirable side effects or lead to aggravation of acne condition.

Both topical and oral treatment is usually required to cure acne… which origins from inside-the-body processes and ends up on the very outside – the skin. Prior to elaborating any treatment plan & schematize it – consult a dermatologist. He’s very likely to be of great help in making the final pick. You should be aware of all potential side effects of each and every solution you might opt for. And once you’ve started your war against acne – make sure you are giving your “fighters” enough time to produce effect and kill the enemy. It may take a week, a month or sometimes even up to 3 months before any noticeable healing changes take place. Acne is far more serious than a headache or an upset stomach… it can’t be cured overnight. Also, don’t alternate 2 or more different treatments at the same time. For instance, don’t use solution A today and then solution B tomorrow. And don’t forget that your neighbor’s panacea acne-solution may not be your perfect choice. Body reactions are just like mind reactions – they differ from one person to another. And the last, but not the least – get yourself a good allergy specialist and a nutritionist… they’ll help you manage the whole “change of a lifestyle” part.

Remember! Acne is not supposed to be endurable – it is curable!
